Projects

The idea of the Great Baikal Trail has existed three decades. The first shovel hit the earth in June of 2003. Every summer field season, a number of two-week projects take place at locations around Baikal. Each project is run by a trained team leader who has attended the early-summer training seminar and typically has previous trail-building experience.

The project participants are volunteers from Russia and around the world. There are no restrictions on volunteers other than that they be healthy enough to participate.
