Project area:
The group will be located around the village of
Turka in the Buryat republic.
Work proposed:
Volunteers will help construct a special
trail providing access for wheelchairs to Lake Baikal. As this is a
long term project the group will be carrying out foundation and
preparation work on the trail for future projects. The group will
also continue work begun in 2004 making furniture and other
necessary structures (tables, benches, rubbish-bins, toilets, etc.)
for a camp-site in the area.
Volunteer accommodation:
Volunteers will sleep in tents.
Entertainment and
excursions
There will be the
opportunity for fishing and a small hiking excursion around the
village to see and explore Baikal’s natural environment.
