Ethnographic museum, Datsan temple in Ivolginsk, Village of Old Believers

Ulan-Ude is the capital of Buryat Republic and home to Siberia's largest ethnic minority, who trace their ancestry to Genghis Khan. During this 1 days City tour we Visit Ivolginsky Datsan, a functioning Buddhist monastery complex near town. Through special arrangement, you will be allowed to view a rare collection of old Buddhist manuscripts written on natural silk. See the city's monuments, giant Lenin head, unique outdoor ethnographic museum with its many wooden structures from the Russian, Buryat, and Evenk cultures. Return to town for a special ethnic dinner visiting souvenir shops.
Optionally: performance by a Buryat or Old believers folk ensemble. ($40)
All transfers by private car, English speaking guide.
Departure from hotel/homestay: 8:30 am. Coming back at 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Duration of the tour is 8-9 hours.
No age limitation.
The price of the tours includes: all transfers, dinner without alcohol and beer, entrance fees to museums, Buddhist monastery, guide escort service.
